Welcome to Dear Henrietta.
 
By accessing or using the Dear Henrietta mobile app, website, or any related services (“Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. DEFINITIONS “Platform” means the Dear Henrietta mobile app, website, and all related services.“We,” “Us,” “Our” refers to The Dear Henrietta Company Ltd. (Nigeria) and Mahanaim Systems LLC (U.S.).“User” or “You” means any person who accesses, registers, or uses the Platform.“Therapy Services” means sessions booked with licensed therapists through the Platform.“Safety Tools” means features such as the Panic Button and Check-In Timer.“Content” means text, journal entries, messages, posts, data, or other materials input by the user.“Paid Plan” means any subscription or premium access with added features.
 2. WHO WE ARE 
Dear Henrietta is a wellness and safety platform created to support women with digital tools for healing, journaling, therapy, and personal safety. The platform is operated by The Dear Henrietta Company Ltd., a registered Nigerian entity. International intellectual property and operations are managed under our U.S. entity, MAHANAIM SYSTEMS LLC. 
3. ELIGIBILITY 
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and that you are legally able to use the Platform. 
4. USER ACCOUNTS 
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact letters@dearhenrietta.com immediately. 
5. DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY (NDPR COMPLIANCE) 
We comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and applicable global privacy laws.

All personal information, including journal entries, is securely stored and encrypted. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or unauthorized third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
 6. ACCOUNT DELETION 
You may delete your account at any time via: App > Menu > Account Settings > Delete My Account 
This permanently removes all data, including journal entries, contacts, and therapy records. Subscriptions will be canceled. You may also request deletion via email. Processing may take up to 72 hours. 
7. THERAPY & SUPPORT 
Our therapists are licensed Nigerian professionals trained in trauma-informed care. Sessions are confidential and can be booked anonymously. 
Important: Dear Henrietta does not provide emergency psychiatric care or crisis intervention. If you are in danger, contact professional emergency services immediately.

Rescheduling: Email at least 4 hours before your session. Late reschedules = ₦1,000 fee. Missed sessions = non-refundable. 
8. SAFETY TOOLS 
Panic Button Instantly notifies trusted contacts with your location (if permission granted)Free Plan: up to 2 contactsPaid Plan: up to 5 contacts 
Check-In Timer Available only on Paid PlansIf you do not respond after a set time, your emergency contact is notified 
Important: Dear Henrietta does not contact emergency services directly. These features support your safety—they do not replace emergency help.
 9. JOURNALING & PRIVACY 
Your journal entries are fully encrypted and private. Only you can access them. Free Plan: 2 entries/monthPaid Plan: Unlimited entries 
Journaling is designed to support self-reflection, healing, and growth.
 10. WELLNESS PRODUCTS & DELIVERY 
We offer physical wellness products (e.g., Guardian Strip, HELD heating patches). 
Delivery Times: Lagos: Same-day or next-dayOther Nigerian states: 4–5 business days 
Refunds: Only available for damaged or incorrect items. Please ensure your address is correct at checkout. 
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 
All content, design, software, and branding belong to The Dear Henrietta Company Ltd. or are licensed to us. You may not reproduce, copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without written permission. 
12. TERMINATION OF USE 
We may suspend or terminate your account if you: Violate these TermsMisuse therapy servicesAbuse safety toolsEngage in harmful or illegal behavior 
We may also remove content that violates our policies. 
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & NO GUARANTEE OF SAFETY (IMPORTANT) 
Dear Henrietta provides wellness and safety tools, but we are not an emergency service or law enforcement agency. 
While we strive to maintain reliable features, we cannot guarantee: That alerts or messages will always be deliveredThat locations will always be accurateThat contacts will respondThat technical issues will not occur 
By using the Platform, you agree that: You are responsible for your own safetySafety tools supplement but do not replace emergency servicesWe are not liable for any injury, loss, or damages resulting from: Network or device failureIncorrect contact infoGPS inaccuracyApp delays or errorsAny situation beyond our control 
NO WARRANTY: All services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. 
LIMITATION OF DAMAGES: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages even if we were advised of the possibility. 
You use the Platform at your own risk. 
14. NO MEDICAL OR LEGAL ADVICE 
Content in the app (including journaling prompts, articles, messaging, and therapist sessions) is for informational and supportive purposes only. We do not provide medical or legal advice. 
15. MODIFICATIONS TO THE PLATFORM 
We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature at any time. We may also offer new features under separate terms. 
16. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS 
We may update these Terms occasionally. Updated versions will include a revised Effective Date. 
Continued use of the Platform means you accept the new terms.
17. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTE RESOLUTION 
Use of the Platform within Nigeria is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For intellectual property or international matters, U.S. law (via Mahanaim Systems LLC) may apply. 
Any disputes shall first be resolved through confidential mediation or arbitration. By using the Platform, you waive the right to participate in class-action lawsuits against us.
