Welcome to Dear Henrietta. By accessing or using the Dear Henrietta mobile app, website, or any related services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the platform.
Who We Are
Dear Henrietta is a wellness and safety platform created to support women with digital tools for healing, journaling, therapy, and personal safety.
We are operated by The Dear Henrietta Company Ltd., a registered Nigerian company. International IP and operations are managed under our U.S. entity, MAHANAIM SYSTEMS LLC.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and truthful, and that you are legally permitted to use this service.
User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, please email letters@dearhenrietta.com immediately.
Data Protection and Privacy (NDPR Compliance)
We comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). This means you have the right to:
Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion or deactivation of your account
Withdraw consent for data processing
All personal information, including journal entries, is securely stored and encrypted. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with advertisers or unauthorized third parties. For more information, please review our [Privacy Policy].
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time by going to:
App > Menu > Account Settings > Delete My Account
This will permanently remove all stored data, including journal entries, contacts, and therapy records. Subscriptions will also be canceled. You may also request deletion by emailing letters@dearhenrietta.com. Allow up to 72 hours for processing.
Therapy and Support
Our therapists are licensed Nigerian professionals trained in trauma-informed care. All sessions are confidential and can be booked anonymously.
Please note: Dear Henrietta does not provide emergency crisis intervention or psychiatric services. If you are in danger or require urgent support, contact a certified helpline immediately:

You may reschedule therapy sessions by emailing us at least 4 hours before your scheduled time. Late reschedules will attract a ₦1,000 fee. Missed sessions are non-refundable.
Safety Tools
The Panic Button allows you to instantly notify your trusted contacts with your location and a custom safety message.
Free Plan: Add up to 2 contacts
Paid Plan: Add up to 5 contacts
The Check-In Timer is available only on Paid Plans. When activated, it checks in on you after a set period. If you do not respond, your emergency contact is notified.
Dear Henrietta does not contact emergency services directly. These tools are meant to supplement your safety — not replace emergency help.
Journaling and Privacy
Your journal entries are fully encrypted and private. Only you can access them.
Free Plan: 2 entries/month
Paid Plan: Unlimited entries
Journaling is designed to support your healing journey with prompts and space to reflect.
Wellness Products and Delivery
We offer physical products like the Guardian Strip and Held heating patches via our wellness store.

Lagos: Same-day or next-day
Other Nigerian states: 4 to 5 business days
We do not offer refunds unless the item is damaged or incorrect. Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout.
Intellectual Property
All content, features, text, software, and branding on Dear Henrietta are owned by The Dear Henrietta Company Ltd. or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of our content without written permission.
Termination of Use
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that puts others at risk. This includes misuse of therapist sessions, abuse of safety tools, or harmful communication.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Updates will be reflected with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
